Top 5 Television Shows | 02. | How I Met Your Mother

I’m breaking my self-imposed rule here of keeping out shows that I have resentments towards BUT I just couldn’t not add it! I used to unconditionally love everything about this show. The ensemble cast and their dynamics, the many heartfelt relationships woven into the series, the innovative way they craft stories within each other, staples and callbacks (robin sparkles! slap bet! dopplegangers! zitchdog! the goat! ranjit!), the potential of Robin/Barney, the genuinely clever humor, and of course Neil Patrick Harris’s impeccable performance as Barney Stinson. They hit a bit of a road bump in season five, but since they openly acknowledged that, I’m hoping for the show to return to what it once was next year.

Barney: No. No! The first is this guy who lives in a place called the mirror. What UP. I’m saying.. that you are way more awesome than Simon ever will be.

I miss when they were awesome.
